WCDC Endorses Gillibrand

At it's meeting Wednesday of the Warren County Democratic Committee, Committee Chair Lynne Boecher read a letter from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand thanking the committee for its support over the last seven years, beginning with her first congressional race.   In the letter Sen. Gillibrand expressed her apologies to the committee for not being able to attend due to current Senate business.  She also spoke of the importance of this election season, the necessity of keeping the Senate in Democratic hands, and the need for support from all Democrats in this critical year.  Senator Gillibrand then formally asked the committee for its endorsement.

When the Senator's picture and website was projected on an overhead screen as the reading of the statement began, the crowd of over 80 committee members broke out into cheers and applause.   As Chairwomen Boecher finished reading the letter, a motion was made and seconded to again endorse Kirsten Gillibrand for the United States Senate.  The motion was carried by unanimous acclamation.

Senator Gillibrand has pursued an ambitious agenda in office, with initiatives featuring job creation, transparency in government and healthcare, among others.  She also recently called for a expedited withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
