Press Release For Immediate Release October 12th, 2012 Assembly Candidate Dennis Tarantino Speaks Out On Hiking Fees Dennis Tarantino, candidate for the New York State Assembly, 114th District, today released the following statement on proposed fees for hikers in the Adirondack Park. “Our natural resources should be accessible to the entire population, regardless of their economic status. The proposal to charge a fee for the use of public hiking trails in Essex County is just another tax on families who are already struggling in this difficult economy. “ “We need to promote the North Country’s natural resources as an affordable recreation option, especially at this time of year, as visitors flock to the North County to take in the foliage. In addition to hurting families, this proposed fee would have a devastating impact on our local economy, as small businesses would suffer from the loss of revenue generated by the tourism industry.” -30- Contact: Larry Dudley Ldudley@nycap.rr.com 518-538-0565 www.dentarantino.com www.facebook.com/ElectDenTarantino | |
